Estimator / Senior Estimator – Heavy Civil
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for commercial, residential, municipal and highway construction underground utility projects and services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of service, take-offs, evaluate vendor quotes, change orders, and contract updates.
This position is offered in the Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas area.

Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
● Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction and underground utility estimating, including water, sewer, and storm projects.
● Familiarity with geotechnical investigations and reports.
● Ability to multitask and manage estimates for multiple projects simultaneously.
● Working knowledge of heavy equipment and its appropriate applications for construction projects.
● Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid and AG-tek preferred, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and spreadsheet development.
● Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with a positive, winning attitude.
● Results-oriented, with a strong focus on achieving project and company objectives.
Responsibilities
● Analyze blueprints, plans, specifications, and project documentation to develop accurate time, cost, material, and labor estimates.
● Prepare detailed estimates to support the selection of vendors and subcontractors.
● Coordinate closely with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, and Superintendents throughout the project life cycle.
● Collaborate with Engineers, Architects, Owners, Contractors, and Subcontractors to evaluate and adjust cost estimates as project requirements change.
● Prepare detailed estimates to support project planning, organization, scheduling, and execution.
● Prepare cost and expenditure statements, progress documentation, and other required reports throughout the project life cycle.
● Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, and services, while tracking actual costs against original bids as projects progress.
● Establish and maintain cost monitoring, tracking, and reporting systems and procedures.
● Conduct specialized cost studies to develop standard labor-hour and related cost data and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
● Participate in pre-bid meetings and project meetings as required.
● Calculate detailed labor, equipment, and material costs required to develop comprehensive project estimates.
