SENIOR ESTIMATOR HEAVY CIVIL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering or similar preferred.
• 10 + years’ experience with heavy dirt work, and underground utility experience.
• Experience bidding up to $ 50M in projects.
• Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Gather all information to prepare the bid estimate, drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports etc.
• Management of multiple projects from project award through project closeout.
• Material takeoffs from project drawings.
• Solicit subcontractors and supplier proposals for accuracy and completeness.
• Complete bid forms, closed bids and submit bids.
• Contract negotiations for private and public work.
• Develop and maintain business relationships to increase bid opportunities.
• Assist Project Managers with review and pricing of scope changes.
• Review and mentor Junior Estimators when needed.Working with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on feasibility studies and adjusting the cost when needed.
